The invention concerns a device comprising: a transponder chip (10) of small dimensions, fixed on each object (11) to be monitored, storing a single identification code; a fixed control device (2), set proximate to each transponder chip (10) so as to be able to receive the identification code transmitted by the chip, said device comprising means for contactless reading of the identification code of the transponder chip, means for storing (32) the first identification code received by the reading means (4) when the device is activated, transmission means (5), and means (3) for periodically triggering the reading means (4), and for triggering the transmission means (5) for transmitting a warning message when the chip identification code is no longer received; and a terminal (20) for receiving the warning messages transmitted by the control device (2) and display the contents of said messages.
