PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system that can prevent a communication failure due to mis-carrier-sensing and wrong data reception in the case of receiving data. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a signal denoting the end of measurement from a timer means, a carrier sensing means B5 senses the carrier of a concerned channel. When a reception discrimination means 6 receives an output from the carrier sensing means B5, the means 6 stops the reception by a radio reception means 3. Thus, even when a carrier sensing means A2 discriminates the presence of a radio wave of the concerned channel to be 'presence of carrier' in mistake and a 'specific pattern' is received, since the carrier sensing means B5 confirms the presence of the carrier again, the carrier sensing by the other channel can be attained.
