<p>A communication system operative in a computer network together with an information retrieval system that retrieves information over the network and in which information to be retrieved is associated with network names that can be resolved into network addresses used to locate information to be retrieved on the network, the communication system comprising: a plurality of respective community servers resident in computer storage media accessible over the network, the respective community servers providing communication over the network among respective computers that use such respective community servers; a network name association structure resident in computer storage media accessible over the network, the network name association structure associating respective network names with respective community communication processes; and t least one instance of a network name receiving structure resident in computer storage media of at least one given computer accessible over the network, the network name receiving process receiving respective network names associated with information to be retrieved by the given computer in the network and informing the network name association structure of respective received network names.</p> |
