摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve distance measurement precision in an active trigonometrical distance measurement system, to obtain a picture being in focus even in the case of a subject on which a camera cannot be focused in the contrast system, and to improve flashmatic precision. SOLUTION: An electronic camera is provided with a CCD imaging device 13 which converts a subject image formed by a photographic lens 11 to a picture signal, an active trigonometrical distance measurement mechanism 30 which throws light to a subject to measure an objective subject distance, a focusing mechanism 20 in the contrast system which performs focusing on the basis of an output signal of the imaging device 13, and a strobe light emitting mechanism 42 which illuminates the subject, and the photographic lens 11 is driven by the focusing mechanism 20 to perform focusing after being driven on the basis of a first distance measurement signal of the mechanism 30, and the subject distance is detected by second distance measurement of the mechanism 30 while the lens 11 is driven, and flashmatic control of a strobe is performed on the basis of the second distance measurement signal.
