PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a fuel cell, which has lightweight, high strength, and is excellent in heat resistance, corrosion resistance and gas imper meability, thereby allowing a reliable fuel cell of light weight and long life and a method of manufacturing the separator in an easy manner. SOLUTION: A separator for a fuel cell which has a passage for anode gas or cathode gas on at least one side and which has a function to separate the anode gas from the cathode gas. The separator 4 is made of an amorphous carbon composite, which is obtained by forming a forming material consisting of a phenolic resin added to a carbonic material in an amount of 2 to 60% by weight; synthesized by suspension polymerization and by calcining the resulting formed product. |
