PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component and its manufacturing method wherein an electronic main body can be simply fixed on a circuit board by using a socket, and the fixing to the circuit board is rigid. SOLUTION: This electronic component consists of an electronic component main body 12 of an electromechanical component or the like and a socket 15 which holds the main body 12 and is fixed on a circuit board 16. Elastic segments 20 abutting against the rear of the circuit board 16 and holding segments 34 abutting against an accepting part 32 of the socket 15 are disposed on the side surface of the main body 12. The accepting part 32 of the socket 15 is formed slantingly to the protruding direction of the holding segments 34, which abut elastically against the slantingly formed accepting part 32, in the direction leaving from the side surface of the main body 12, thereby holding the main body 12.
