PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility in scroll display. SOLUTION: A digital wrist watch 100 provided with a display part 201 having an LCD 206 for display, and a display control part 205 for performing scroll display by controlling the display part 201 is provided with a detection part 202 for detecting contrast of the display part 201, and a scroll speed selection part 203 for adjusting a scroll speed of the display control part 205 based on the detection result of the detection part 202. The detection part 202 detects the contrast of the display part 201, the scroll speed selection part 203 adjusts the scroll speed of the display control part 205 based on the detection result of the detection part 202, and scrolls at a speed correspondent to the contrast.
