<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the depth of a structure or a matter buried in the ground and the depth of an internal defect, e.g. a void, without measuring the dielectric constant. SOLUTION: At the time of measuring the depth of a buried matter or an internal defect, an electromagnetic wave is radiated inward from the surface of an object and the reflected wave thereof is caught. Minimum value of the arriving time of the electromagnetic wave is then measured twice while varying the radiating position and the distance between the receiving positions. The data is substituted to a formula and operated thus determining the depth of a buried matter or an internal defect.</p> |
