PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication route information on a packet. SOLUTION: The packet communication route communication system of an IP transmission device, where a packet is transmitted via multiple communication networks, is provided with an ICMP request generation part 1 generating and transmitting an ICMP request message to a transmission destination, an ICMP route response down route generation part 7 loading the IP address of a self-device on an ICMP response message, transmitting it to a transmission source and giving information on the route when the ICMP request message is received, an ICMP route request up route transfer processing part 9 transferring the ICMP request message to the transmission destination when the ICMP request message is not for the self-device, an ICMP route response down route transfer processing part 10 transferring the ICMP response message to the transmission source when the ICMP response message is not for the self-device and an ICMP rout response processing part 11 judging the route from the ICMP response message when the ICMP response message is for the self-device.
