PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector precisely detecting a level of liquid stored in a container. SOLUTION: This liquid level detector 1 is provided with a float 4 floating in ink stored in an ink tank 2, a magnet 6 installed to the float 4, a Hall elements 8, 9 fixed in the different height positions on the outside of a side wall 2a facing the end part 6a of the magnet 6, and a detection unit 16 detecting a liquid level on the basis of a detection signal detected via the Hall elements 8, 9. The magnet 6 is constructed by overlapping the N-pole just above the S-pole vertically. The detection unit 16 detects the trailing edge of an output when the boundary between the S-pole and the N-pole of the magnet 6 reaches the center of the Hall element 8 (9), and it is detected that the liquid level reaches a predetermined level. |
