PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expander for a scale which facilitates confirmation of displayed numeric values of a scale in a configuration measurement photograph picked-up with a compact camera by facilitating confirmation of the size of a measurement object by expanding the graduation of the scale. SOLUTION: This expander consists of an expanding lens 2 and a holding part 3 which penetrates and holds a scale movably in the horizontal direction and holds the expanding lens 2 on the held scale. The expanding lens 2 has a structure wherein a column is vertically divided into two equal parts. By installing a reference line 2a on the lens 2 which is drawn in the same direction as the graduation of the scale, and a rod member 35 which protrudes in the same direction as the reference line 2a from a part of the holding part 3 which corresponds to the side of the reference line 28, configuration measurement and photographing are possible in the state that numeric values are easily confirmed.
