PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker with a contact arm/lock that ensures a lock for preventing the contact arm from short-circuiting again at any short circuit level. SOLUTION: A circuit breaker comprises contacts 27, 28 short-circuited or opened, contact arm 46 with an engaging surface, and latch 40 engaging the engaging surface on the contacts being opened from short circuit. The latch ensures the lock at a short circuit level with minimized force required for releasing the lock of the contact arm.
