PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device which can impart appropriate operation force to the control cable of a connection breaking mechanism with a motor in facilities for protection/closure from sunlight. SOLUTION: In protection or closure facilities having an operation cable 3 whose one end is connected to a connection breaking mechanism and whose other end 3a is connected to an operation device 1, the operation device 1 has an elastic member 6 which can impart stress T0 decided in accordance with the states of the first and second constitution members 4 and 5 of the operation device to the cable 3.
