PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic voltage regulator having a rapid response, a high accuracy, easy reductions in size and weight, a large power saving effect and clean and high perormance without harmonic current or without electromagnetic interference. SOLUTION: The input terminal of a power source is connected to the input of a winding control transformer WVC. The output of the transformer WVC is connected in series from the input terminal to an output terminal. Both ends of the output terminal are connected to the input of the voltage detector 12 of a control means 1. The output of an output setter 11 and the output of a voltage detector 12 are connected to the input of a comparison deciding unit ECMP. The output of the unit ECMP is connected to the input of a winding controller WCONT. The output of the controller WCONT is connected to the dive input terminal of each switch of a switch circuit S.
