PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playback amplifier of an MR head preventing the destruc tion due to the flow of a large current when the static electricity is impressed on the MR head and also eliminating the adverse effect to the high frequency characteristic of the reproduction output when the ripple exists in the power supply line etc. SOLUTION: The MR head RMR is connected between two current sources P2 and Q2, and a feedback amplifier Gm1 is furnished for controlling current values of the current sources so that the voltage between the both terminals ND2 and ND3 becomes the specified voltage.
