PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar which outputs an alarm after receiving a speeding control radio wave and prevents interference of carrier waves caused by its operation due to the approach of another radar to eliminate its malfunctions. SOLUTION: A radar detector 1 has a receiving part 12 which receives control radio waves and outputs detection signals, and a CPU 11 varies the receiving timing of control radio waves of the part 12. That is, the part 12 receives the radio waves at comparatively low frequency right after the start of its operation and then receives the radio waves at higher frequency when the part 12 receives the radio waves and outputs the detection signals. When more detection signals are outputted, an alarm is outputted via a loudspeaker 17 and an LED display part 18 and also the control radio waver are received at higher frequency.
