PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an eddy current reduction gear free from failure due to thermal expansion by rotatably supporting a magnet supporting cylinder formed of iron at an inner cylinder formed of aluminum. SOLUTION: A non-movable guide cylinder 10 formed of aluminum is disposed inside a brake drum 7 coupled with a rotating shaft. One of magnet supporting cylinders 14, 14A, formed of iron and coupled with a number of magnets 24, 24A so that they may be equally spaced in a circumferential direction is supported so as to rotate and the other so as to be non-rotatable at the inner hollow, rectangular in cross section, of the guide cylinder 10. A ferromagnetic member 15 facing the respective magnets 24, 24A is coupled with the external cylinder 10a of the guide cylinder 10 facing the inner peripheral side 7b of the brake drum 7. By rotating the magnet supporting cylinder 14 forwardly or reversely, switching is conducted between non-braking and braking. The magnet supporting cylinder 14 is supported on the internal cylinder 10A of the guide cylinder 10 by a bush 12, and a sleeve 61 formed out of iron is coupled with the external surface of the internal cylinder part 10A facing the bush 12.
