PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing optical connecting parts which are formed with protective boots at the terminating end of an optical fiber for the purpose of imparting strength to it. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing optical connecting parts, in which plural optical fibers with a terminating end for an optical connection are wired in a two-dimensionally planar fashion so that a wiring pattern is formed having at least a crossing part or a curved part or a fiber pitch changing part, and in which the terminating ends 5 of the optical fibers 4 drawn out of the body of the optical connecting parts are protected with protective boots 8; a weir 7 with a projection provided for forming the protective boots is structured in the circumferential edge or its proximity of a support that holds the wired optical fibers; and the inside of the weir is filled with a resin material to form a resin protective layer, thereby fixing the optical fibers and forming the protective boots 8 at the terminating end of the optical fibers. It is desirable that the protective boots are integrally formed with the same material as that of the weir.
