SEPARATOR FOR CELLS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for cells which does not cause a short-circuit by a metal crystal on forming of an electrode plate group of using the cells and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: A separator for cells is formed of an unwoven fabric having a film layer formed by pressing a fiber on a whole face in a direction perpendicular to its thickness direction and having a fiber layer containing a fiber joined with the film layer on one or both sides. The method for manufacturing the separator for the cells comprises forming of a pressed fiber web by heating and pressurizing whole fiber webs including a thermoplastic fiber and thereafter action of fluid on one or both side of the formed pressing fiber web.
