PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent one from worrying about a time necessary for searching for a guide route by enabling a route to a trunk road to be displayed without setting a point on the trunk road as a destination. SOLUTION: When the automobile navigation system starts operating, a route RT1 from a vehicle position CM to a trunk road TR is automatically searched for and the route RT1 to the trunk road TR is displayed. When the vehicle position CM is not present on the trunk road TR, an end point EP of the route RT1 on the trunk road TR is set as a route search start point and a route RT2 to the set destination is searched for. |
