PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve game performance in an automatic vending machine with a gift hitting function such as a roulette. SOLUTION: The illuminating device of an automatic vending machine for illuminating a merchandise sample or an advertisement part such as an electric irradiating plate is provided with a fluorescent light, an inverter for driving the fluorescent light, a roulette, and a control means for outputting a control signal for driving the fluorescent light to the inverter. Then, the fluorescent light is repeatedly driven with illumination which is 2 or more while being linked with the displaying operation of the roulette.
