<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional multi-channel broadcast transmitter and receiver that a viewer has to interrupt a program viewed at present when the viewer is going to confirm contents of a broadcast program at present because the user has to once receive a physical channel through which a promotion channel is transmitted. SOLUTION: The multi-channel broadcast transmitter and receiver is provided with 1st compression coding means 13a-13n that apply compression coding to a plurality of channel groups, 2nd compression coding means 23a-23n that apply compression coding to the channel groups at a compression rate different from that of the 1st compression coding means, and a multiplexer means 14 that multiplexes an output of the 1st compression coding means with an output of the 2nd compression coding means.</p> |
