<p>An apparatus and method for assisting a first person in maintaining a safe restraining hold on a second person for extended period of time without danger of positional asphyxiation is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a first resilient pad (100) with a receiving channel (102) for receiving the first person's elbow and bottom flat surface having an extruded area (104) positioned and configured to releasably attach to an additional stabilizing pad (200) underneath so that the position of the apparatus may be optionally elevated above the floor surface. The first person initiates the restraining hold by manipulating the second person into a face-down prone position onto the floor surface, such that the first person is disposed along and above the second person.</p> |
