PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma address liquid crystal display device wherein deterioration of display quality caused by a cross-talk phenomenon is suppressed and prevented. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has plural picture element areas each of which is formed in the intersectional areas of plural electrodes and plural plasma channels, and a liquid crystal layer included in each of the plural picture elements is changed in the alignment state according to voltages applied between the electrodes and the plasma channels, and in the liquid crystal display device performing a display by using light passing through the area of the plural picture elements, an electrode width along the extending direction of the plasma channel is narrower than a width of the area of the picture element, as a result, a voltage applied to the liquid crystal layer in the edge area is smaller than that applied to the liquid crystal layer in the other areas in the picture elements.
