PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical wavelength multiplexer and demultiplexer having low crosstalk capable of being flattened in a wide band and setting a central wavelength with excellent precision. SOLUTION: Waveforms such as band widening are adjusted by providing a band adjusting waveguide element 11 between an input optical fiber 2 and an input side slab waveguide 10 and by optimizing the position and shape of the band adjusting waveguide element 11. Additional waveguides 7a, 13a are respectively arranged in the band adjusting waveguide element 11 and an output side waveguide 7, whereby even if some axial shifts are generated when these elements are fixed, the central wavelength is precisely set by combining the waveguides. |
