The flywheel for a motor vehicle clutch has a first plate (10) fixed to a driven shaft (12) and a second plate (30) mounted on the first. The second plate engagement is controlled by centrifugal weights (40) pivotally mounted on an annular diaphragm (42) of the first plate. The diaphragm can form a Belleville washer on the first plate.
