<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing a dent at a rugged part on the surface of a developing sleeve from being filled with toner by carrier, avoiding the contamination of the sleeve caused by the welding of the toner and stably obtaining a good-quality image for a long time. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with two-component type developer for developing an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier and having non-magnetic toner and magnetic carrier, and a developer carrier carrying and feeding the two-component type developer to the developing area, and is adjusted so that the average peak interval Sm of the ruggedness on the surface of the developer carrier may be within 1/3 to 6 times as large as the weight average particle size D of the magnetic carrier in the developer and adjusted so that the value of the ratio of Rz to Sm may have relation 0.001<=Rz/Sm<=0.15 when the ten-point average roughness of the surface of the developer carrier is defined as Rz.</p> |
