PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and its cleaning method capable of preventing an image defect such as a black point or void on a formed image by preventing the driving torque of a toner image carrier from being increased and abnormal sound such as chatter sound or jitter on the formed image from occurring and removing toner powder and the paste of label paper or the like which are electrostatically and physically firmly stuck. SOLUTION: By rotating a toner image carrier 11 at least once and making it slide in contact with paper 20 in a state where the paper 20 comes in contact with the carrier 11 until the leading edge of the paper 20 reaches a fixing means 7 after reaching space between the carrier 11 and a transfer roller 3, the carrier 11 is cleaned.
