A nickel powder characterized in that the number of particles having a particle diameter being 1.2 times or more the average diameter of the powder as measured by SEM observation is 5 % or less of the total particle number of the powder and the number of particles having a particle diameter being 0.8 times or less the average diameter of the powder is 5 % or less of the total particle number, and the powder has a tap density of 2.5 g/cm<3> or more; and an electrically conductive paste for a laminated ceramic condenser comprising the nickel powder. The nickel powder has a narrow particle size distribution and excellent packing property in a conductive paste, and thus is suitable, in particular, for producing a thin and homogeneous internal electrode of a laminated ceramic condenser without causing crack or delamination.
