PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid capable of holding large attraction without decreasing thrust even if the plunger stroke increases. SOLUTION: This solenoid includes a case 2 and a base 6 and moves the plunger 3 by energizing a coil 1, wherein a cylindrical stationary core 5a consisting of permanent magnet whose N-pole is on the plunger 3 side and whose S-pole is on the coil 1 side, and a cylindrical stationary core 5b consisting of a magnetic material are disposed between the coil 1 and the plunger 3, thus it is possible to hold the thrust of the plunger 3.
