PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data collecting device and a metering device used for an automatic meter reading system, which can be installed easily to an already existing house without conducting wiring works. SOLUTION: When a start signal is transmitted from a handy terminal which works as a data collecting device, metering devices which are positioned within the receptible range of the start signal transmit their identification numbers. Upon receiving identification numbers, handy terminal successively collects measured data from the metering devices within the receptible range in a polling mode by designating the identification numbers. |
