PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for attaching temperature sensors of an optical waveguide chip capable of saving the handling labor for attaching only a temperature detecting means to the optical waveguide chip without generating stress like imparting distortion to the optical waveguide when the temperature detecting means are attached to the optical waveguie chip. SOLUTION: In the attaching structure, a fiber holding member 13 for holding the end part of optical fibers 15 and the optical waveguide chip 11 in which an optical waveguide is provided are prepared, the end surface 15a of the optical fibers 15 is made to coincide with the end surface of the optical waveguide, the joining surface 13a of the fiber holding member 13 is joined to the joining surface 11b of the optical wavegiude chip 11 each other and also the temperature sensors 19, 23 for detecting the temperature of the optical waveguide chip 11 are attached to the fiber holding member 13.
