A sweep control unit supplies a current from a current drive circuit to a YTO to allow the YTO to oscillate at frequencies that correspond to a first range of the oscillation frequency of the YTO designated, as a desired frequency range, for analysis in a single sweep and a second range, which is a higher in frequency than the first range, designated for analysis in the next sweep. If the difference between the end frequency of the first range and the start frequency of the second range is detected being larger than a specified frequency difference, the sweep control unit outputs a command to a bias circuit to increase the current flowing from the current drive circuit through the YTO during a part of the period between the end of the first range and the start of the second range to shorten the period between the end of the first range and start of the second range.
