PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording and reproducing device which records and reproduces information to and from a high-density medium rotating at a high speed with high reliability by utilizing the optical interaction between the device and the medium in a microregion. SOLUTION: The constitution in which a system for introducing light to a slider 6 receiving a floating force and a system to apply load thereto are made the same is obtained by applying the load to the slider 6 by an optical waveguide mechanism. Consequently, the highly reliable recording and reproducing of the information are made possible by the stable maintenance of the posture of the slider 6 and the increase in the intensity of irradiation to the medium. Further, the constitution arranged with the microstructure near the edge within the surface on the medium side of the slider 6 is adopted and the distance between the microstructure and the medium is made shorter, thereby, the additional densification is made possible. |
