PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain economical monitoring of a light receiving level for HFC transmission without much labor and time and causing a hindrance to operation. SOLUTION: The system for monitoring a light receiving level for HFC transmission that combines a plurality of optical signals and transmits them altogether is provided with an oscillator 103 that generates a reference signal inserted to an electric signal before the conversion of the optical signals combined and transmitted altogether and with a light receiving level monitor section 200 that converts the received optical signals transmitted altogether into the electric signal, extracts the reference signal from a branched electric signal and monitors the light receiving level of each optical signal on the basis of the level of the extracted reference signal.
