PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat insulating performance or to make a heat insulating material compact, regarding a vacuum heat insulating material usable for a heat insulating container for transportation to be used for carrying chemicals and medical supplies. SOLUTION: This material is a vacuum heat insulating material having a structure easy to be bent to one side surface of a core material by making the width of an outer covering material peripheral edge part in which films of the outer covering material contact each other longer than the half of thickness of the core material. Or, the material is the vacuum heat insulating material reducing the peripheral edge part in which the films of the outer covering material contact each other by stipulating each of peripheral length and thickness of the outer covering material made of a bag material of a gusset type and peripheral length and thickness of the core material so as to be almost the same.
