PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute 8B/10B conversion on a digital video signal and to transmit ten bit word string data obtained by adding word synchronous data to it so that a data synchronous state required on a reception side can securely be obtained. SOLUTION: The 8B/10B conversion is executed on a 480P signal and a ten bit word string data based on the 480P signal is formed. An additional word data group comprising 10 bit word synchronous data having a code which is previously set at prescribed word intervals is inserted into the data. Thus, composite ten bit word string data comprising ten bit word synchronous data where running disparity is set to be positive or negative which is previously decided is formed and it is converted into serial data so as to transmit it. |
