PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device without causing any image display fault even when a defective pixel exists in an OB part of a solid- state image pickup element and to provide image pickup method and a computer-readable recording medium. SOLUTION: A CPU 9 controls a sample-hold pulse output of a drive circuit 3 in timing when a solid-state image pickup element 2 outputs a pixel signal corresponding to a defect address section stored in an OB area defect address memory 13 to control a pre-stage processing circuit 4 (sample-hold circuit 11) so that a signal (sample pulse) of a part corresponding to a defect address of the pixel signal is not outputted. Thus, the sample-hold circuit 11 holds and outputs a signal level (black level) in an OB pixel signal before the defect OB pixel).
