<p>The present invention provides a gene encoding merozoite surface protein of Plasmodium and a method for preparing 27.5 kDa recombinant antigen protein by expressing the above gene in E. coli expression vector. The invention also provides a method of using the gene encoding C-terminal of prior known merozoite surface protein of Plasmodium in determining and/or diagnosing the malarial infection, comprising to clone the gene and to produce about 27 kDa recombinant protein from such gene. More particularly, the invention provides the more simple and convenient method for diagnosing the malarial infection having improvements in higher sensitivity and specificity, compared with conventional diagnosis methods, by applying the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method.</p> |
