PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of the gantry of an X-ray CT apparatus to correspond to increase in scanning speed and reduce vibration and noise, or the like. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes a fixed frame 1 having an opening 2 formed in a cylindrical shape in its center, at least an X-ray tube device 7 and an X-ray detector 6 rotatably supported along the inner peripheral wall of the cylindrical opening 2 in the fixed frame 1, a connecting member 8 having a subject insertion hole 9 in its center and interconnecting the X-ray tube device 7 and the X-ray device 6 disposed in opposite positions, and driving force generating means 13 and 14 provided between the connecting member 8 and the fixed frame 1 for rotating the connecting member 8 within the cylindrical opening 2. Durability can thus be improved to correspond to increase in scanning speed, and vibration and noise, or the like, can be reduced.
