PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening out the effect of segment A (chemical species A) on a substance containing a DNA or RNA of a cell or the like by the use of artificial chemical species. SOLUTION: The method for detecting or identifying the effect of chemical species A on the substance containing the DNA or RNA is carried out by using one or more kinds of chemical species capable of recognizing the DNA base sequence represented by the general formula (I): B-L-A (I) (wherein, B, A and L show a chemical structure containing a nonnatural type base capable of recognizing the DNA base sequence, a chemical structure exhibiting an interaction with the DNA and a linker capable of combining the chemical structures of A and B, respectively). A kit therefor and a plate used for the kit are provided.
