PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an inorganic lightweight formed body which is obtained by solving conventional problems and which is small in shrinkage and light weigh and has good surface properties and good physical characteristics. SOLUTION: In a method of producing a formed body from hydraulic composition containing a hydraulic inorganic material, an aggregate, a lightweight aggregate, a fiber material and a mixing agent or the like, a hydraulic composition, to which a mineral powder containing components except magnesium oxide component and having prescribed particle diameters is added, is mixed with water and the mixture thus obtained is formed and further the formed body is cured in an autoclave. Further, the formed body is produced by adding, as the lightweight aggregate, at lest one of styrene resin foaming particles having prescribed average diameters and a prescribed foaming ratio and an inorganic lightweight aggregate having prescribed average diameter, bulk specific gravity and compressive strength.
