PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition for laundry, capable of enabling a continuous washing machine to be used, capable of enhancing the bleaching ability of hydrogen peroxide in a bleaching laundry by using the hydrogen peroxide, capable of improving the detergency of various kinds of linen, hardly providing an undesirable bad effect on rinseability and further capable of reducing the amount of water used for the laundry. SOLUTION: This detergent composition for the laundry is characterized in that the composition comprises (A) a nonionic surfactant represented by general formula (I): R-(EO)m-(PO)n-H (I) (wherein, R is an 8-20C alkyl or alkenyl; EO is ethylene oxide; PO is propylene oxide; (m) is the average number of added mols of the ethylene oxide, and is a number of 4-10; and (n) is the average number of added mols of the propylene oxide, and is a number of 1-4), (B) sodium carbonate in an amount regulated so that the ratio of components A to B may be (1:2)-(1:4), and (C) a silicic acid salt having molar ratio of SiO2/M2O (M is an alkali metal) regulated so as to be (2/3)-(1/3) in an amount regulated so that the weight ratio of the components B to C may be (10:1)-(3:1), and further characterized in that the laundry is carried out in the presence of the hydrogen peroxide.
