PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a fixing element capable of achieving various types of additional safety control functions using a simple means. SOLUTION: The driving device 1 of portable type for a fixing element 10 is formed on the combustion force working system and equipped with a guide pipe 3 for drawing out the fixing element 10. The fixing element 10 is arranged to be introduced into the guide pipe 3 in a lateral position upon passing through a cavity 13. A sensor 19 is inserted into the guide pipe 3 in a position confronting the cavity 13, wherein the inserting depth of the sensor 19 is decided by the fixing element 10 introduced into the pipe 3. The driving device 1 is controlled in accordance with the position of the sensor, which ensures safety operation of the driving device 1.
