PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supported catalyst showing high activity and selectivity capable of manufacturing aromatic carbonate economically and efficiently by reacting an aromatic hydroxy compound, carbon monoxide and oxygen and a method of manufacturing for aromatic carbonate using the catalyst. SOLUTION: This catalyst is a liquid phase heterogenous catalyst obtained by supporting a noble metal such as palladium or the like and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Pb, Bi, Sn and Ti or a compound thereof on zirconium oxide and/or titanium oxide and the noble metal such as palladium or the like in the catalyst is 0.01-15 weight %. Aromatic carbonate can economically and efficiently be produced from an aromatic hydroxy compound, carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt or phosphonium salt and a redox agent by using the catalyst. |
