PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment-based ink jet ink capable of improving image qualities and excellent in storage stability. SOLUTION: The ink jet ink comprises a pigment-based colorant and, incorporated therewith, a water-soluble polymer having a weight-average mol.wt. of 8,000-12,500. As the water-soluble polymer, is employed a styrene/acrylic acid resin. The added amount of the water-soluble polymer is preferably 0.5-2 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the total of the colorant and a solvent. The addition of a nonionic or anionic surfactant is effective for improving storage stability. |
