PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared dental treatment instrument efficient and safe and capable of preventing and treating periodontal disease easily by elevating the temperature of the periodontium by use of the heating action of near infrared radiation. SOLUTION: A near infrared light emitting diode with a wavelength having the power to permeate through an organism is incorporated into an irradiating portion easily attachable to teeth, and the gums around the teeth are treated by irradiation and temperature elevation. A battery is used as a power supply.
