PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder manufacturing apparatus by which a powder material of a metal such as magnesium can be inexpensively manufactured. SOLUTION: There are provided a closed container (a cutting room container 2 and a work room container 3) wherein inner atmosphere can be replaced with an inert gas and can be opened and closed, a tool main shaft 14 provided in the closed container and fitted with a rotational cutting tool 15 for manufacturing powder, a main shaft motor 16 provided outside of the closed container and for rotating and driving the tool main shaft 14, a work feed base 23 provided in the closed container and fitted with the work M and straightly movable in the direction for providing a cutting to the rotational cutting tool 15 fitted on the tool main shaft 14, a feed screw mechanism provided in the closed container and moving the work feed base 23 in the cutting direction, and a feed motor 33 provided outside of the closed container and rotating and driving the feed screw mechanism.
