PUMP JET WITH AXIAL FLOW CONTROL DEVICE FOR THRUST ADJUSTMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump jet that generates thrust loss by the control of the axial flow of water passing a device by blowing exhaust gas into pump jet water flow. SOLUTION: The effective flow density of an outlet medium is reduced by adding gas to main pump jet water flow, to thereby reduce outlet moment (and thrust) generated by the pump jet. A thrust adjusting device can be actuated using a conventional electrical or mechanical actuating sub-system through a knob or a lever positioned near a throttle control device.
