PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge changer which can push out a cartridge always smoothly irrelevantly to the kind of the cartridge although the constitution is simple and inexpensive. SOLUTION: A stepped roller 45 of a catch preventing means M has a columnar peripheral flank 45a and a slanting step surface 45b extending out and down from the lower end of the cylindrical flank 45a. The columnar flank 45a is positioned inside the flank 50a of the cartridge 50 which is pushed out in the right-left direction and the upper-lower intermediate part of the slanting step surface 45b is positioned and arranged on the reverse surface 50f of the cartridge 50. Although the constitution is simple and inexpensive, the cartridge 50 can be pushed out always smoothly to the side of the loading and unloading position A without having its shutter 50e caught to the side of the mechanism base 10 nor a stocker 21 irrelevantly to the kind of the cartridge 50.
